Attendant care services can enable a person with a physical and or / neurological condition to live as independently as possible in their own home and community.

Personal care services can include assistance with the following tasks:

  • feeding /drinking
  • showering
  • dressing
  • functional transfers
  • meal preparation tasks
  • community access
  • shopping
  • domestic assistance

We assess a person’s management of their everyday tasks with a view to making recommendations to a funding provider regarding the level and type of assistance required by an attendant carer provider. This assessment can include a review of any current attendant care funding, highlighting any gaps in the services provided.

The assessment is conducted at the person’s home to review their current care routine with their attendant care workers, home environment and ADL equipment. Recommendations can also include trial / provision of new ADL equipment and / or home modifications to facilitate a safe work environment for both client and attendant care worker.
